3 Reasons to Convert to an Artificial Sports Surface

At MJ Davidson, we regularly see schools, leisure centres and even professional sports clubs installing state-of-the-art artificial sports pitches. You might be asking yourself, ‘should I switch to an artificial sports pitch?’. There are a number of reasons that many are switching over to an artificial pitch, here are three reasons you should consider it too:

#1 – Seasonality – Play all year round

Being from Britain, we’re more than used to the disappointment that outdoor activities can often be called off due to weather. Football, for example, is often cancelled at grassroots level due to waterlogged pitches, this isn’t a problem with an artificial pitch.

#2 – Maintenance – Less fuss

Fed up of cutting grass? An artificial sports pitch requires very little maintenance and there’s no need to cut it. Just year round perfection that’s ready to be played on! This could also lead to reduced labour costs for many who would usually need to hire a groundskeeper to maintain a lawn.

#3 – Functionality

We’ve built a number of artificial sports pitches that are ideal for a number of sports. With the correct line markings, pitches can be used for any number of sports, including tennis, football, hockey and even basketball. This is especially beneficial for schools where a syllabus requires a variety of activities to be taught.
