Looking for the right contractor to carry out your construction and groundwork needs can be a daunting task. Many people often only look at one aspect of the hiring process, price. Whilst value is always important there are three other things that you should always look for before making a decision.

#1 – Testimonials from past clients

This is possibly the biggest indicator of whether or not you are hiring a quality groundwork contractor. Look around online and find reviews, case studies and testimonials from their past clients. One or two shouldn’t put you off, so long as there are plenty of positive ones too. But if you find that the company has nothing but negative feedback it’s probably a good idea to give eliminate them from your search.

If you can’t find anything online, ask the contractor to supply some themselves.

#2 – Plant machinery and equipment checks

Properly maintained and tested equipment is of the utmost importance. Any good groundwork contractor will have their machinery and plant equipment checked and maintained regularly and hold relevant industry required documentation as proof. This is a sure-fire way to ensure that you’re not hiring a cowboy firm.

#3 – Past Projects

Most groundwork contractors will have a website and many will list out some of their past projects on it like we have. This is an opportunity for you to inspect the quality of their work and see the types of projects they have completed in the past. Take a good look through their case studies list and you should find some answers to your questions.
